Sunday School and Bible Class
Start a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Our Sunday School and the Bible Class meet in the Church Hall at 10.30 am each Sunday morning, before our morning service.
We use the Go Teach Bible teaching material in our Sunday School classes. From September this year, we shall be looking at God's work of creation and also seeing our need for Jesus. We normally start in the Magill Room with an opening prayer and then a time of praise, singing some old and some new choruses. After that the children move to the main hall, splitting into different classes depending on their age. After hearing the Bible story, the children complete a worksheet which may include a craft item or require some colouring in.
Bible Class
After the opening prayer, our young teens move to the Jenkins Room for the Bible Class. The atmosphere there is a little more informal and they are encouraged to interact and discuss the Bible passage. There may even be some juice and biscuits!
Youth and Children's Project
We support the work of the PCI Youth and Children's Project each year through our weekly collections. For 2019/20 and 2020/21, the project is entitled 'Crecer Juntos'. The Project aims to encourage children and young people to put into action what they hear and learn when they read the Bible. We want the faith of children and young people to be active and that their interaction with the Bible is much more than simply head knowledge.
The Project highlights some of the work being done by PCI Global Mission Workers, Derek and Jane French, in the evangelical church in Spain.
