Church Notices
The Lord's Supper
The sacrament of the communion of the Lord's Supper is observed on the last Sunday of January and August (pm) and the first Sunday of May and November (am).
Baptism
The sacrament of Christian Baptism shall be administered to those who make a credible profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and to infant children of whom at least one parent makes a credible profession of faith. Sacramental discipline is the responsibility of the Kirk Session, who will decide on the admission or refusal of a person to Baptism.
Notification to Minister and District Elder
The Minister and District Elder should be informed of any instance of serious illness or trouble so that pastoral care and prayer may be offered.
Wedding Arrangements
It is the duty of the Kirk Session to grant or refuse use of the Church's buildings for any purpose. This includes the use of the church's buildings for a wedding or for a religious ceremony following a legal marriage in a Registrar's Office. The Kirk Session will grant the use of the church's building for a service to solemnise a marriage, providing that it is satisfied that the criteria set out in its policy on the solemnisation of marriages are met.
Financial Year
The Financial Year of the congregation closes with the 31st of December. Monies received after a year end will not be included in the Annual Report for that year.
Graveyard Fees and Administration
A Registration Fee is charged whenever title to grave is created or transferred. The fees and charges for the registration and opening/closing of graves have been set by the Committee as follows:
-Registration Fee for Church Members: £50 per each single plot
-Registration Fee for non-members: A sum per each single plot equal to that charged by the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in the last year
-Burial Fee for non-members: £100 (plus the gravedigger's fee)
-Additional Charge payable to the organist if service requested: £60
Forms for registration and burial may be obtained from G Alexander, 33 Wood Lane, Lurgan, BT66 7EL, to whom payment of fees must be made in advance.
The planting of shrubs and placing of glass wreaths on graves is forbidden. The written permission of the Congregational Commitee must be obtained before any headstone or surround is erected or altered.
As a result of the limited space now available in the Church Graveyard, registration of new graves is restricted to church members only.
