Week of Prayer 2017

As we look ahead to the autumn term restart of the different ministries associated with our congregation, we remember what the Bible says:

Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain Psalm 127:1

Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty Zechariah 4:6

apart from Me, you can do nothing John 15:5

We therefore need to pray for the Lord's help and blessing on all our work.

A special series of meetings for prayer is planned for Wednesday 30th and  Thursday 31st August, and Friday 1st, Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September. These meetings will be held in the Magill Room at 8.00pm each evening.

Each evening we shall be focusing on particular organisations or aspects of our church life.

Also, please remember the times of prayer before our morning and evening services each Sunday. If you are able, come and join in the prayer meetings as we look to the Lord for His blessing.

Spring Fellowship Weekend 2017

communion bread wine

During this weekend, we share in the Bread and Wine of the Lord's Supper, and in fellowship together as the Body of Christ.

The plans for the weekend are:

  • Session 1 - Friday 5th May at 8.00pm in the meetinghouse
'Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat the bread and drink the cup' (1 Cor 11:28, NIVUK). But what does it mean to recognise the body of the Lord?
Philippians 1:27-2:4 call believers to remember that they are one body.

  • Session 2 - Sunday 7th May at 11.30am in the meetinghouse
'Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes' (1 Cor 11:26).
Philippians 2:1-11 lead us to reflect on the death of the Lord Jesus, and call us to have His mind in us.

  • Session 3 - Sunday 7th May at 6.30pm in the meetinghouse
'The Lord Jesus ... said,"Do this in remembrance of Me"' (1 Cor 11:23-24). The Communion of the Lord's Supper reminds us that the Lord died for us so that we may live, trusting in what HE has done.
    Philippians 2:5-18 show us how.

A CERTAIN DEATH

HOLY WEEK EVENTS 10TH - 14TH APRIL 2017

Holy Week 2017

What is it about the death of one man that has changed history and made billions of people follow him?

The gospel message of Jesus Christ is something all Christians cling to and the entire world should hear.

Once again Donaghcloney and Waringstown churches are working with one another to bring the message of Easter to our community.
